From the North or South of Augusta, Maine

  • Take Interstate 95 into Augusta, Maine.
  • Take Exit 113 for ME-3 East towards Augusta / Belfast.
  • Go about 22 Miles on Route ME-3 East (Routes 3 / 202 / 9) to Bushey Shore (paved way) on Right (approximately 4 miles past Toby's General Store).
  • Follow the winding Bushey Shore paved way down to the mailboxes (on the left) then continuing right onto the unpaved portion of Bushey Shore to the junction of Bald Head Island East & West - just over the causeway.
  • Stay to the left onto Bald Head Island East (unpaved) for about 4 tenths of a mile to our camp on the left.
  • You will see our American flag and white round Cozy Cove sign hanging on a tree at the entrance to our driveway - You're Here!!

GPS Note: Some GPS devices will direct you to 300 Bushey Shore, not our place. If you did not cross the causeway onto Bald Head Island you are not at the correct address. If you don't see this sign, you haven't made it yet... Keep Going! Notice our blue name plaque in the center of the sign.

Safety Tip! - After you pass Tobey's General Store (on the left) you are about 4 miles from Bushey Shore. The speed limit on Route 3 at Bushey Shore is Wicked Fast so when you get to about 3/10 mile from Bushey Shore (notice the log yard on the left at the bottom of a long downhill grade) put on your right blinkah and slow down and go over into the breakdown lane for the right turn onto Bushey Shore and let them speeders just pass right on by. Bushey Shore comes right up on you quick and you might just blow right on by it. So, be looking for that log yard on the left and get ready, like almost immediately, to turn right onto Bushey Shore.

Bald Head Island Road Rules

Be very careful on the causeway and yield to vehicles already on the causeway. Do not attempt to pass-by other vehicles on the causeway. The speedlimit on Bald Head Island is 15 MPH (maximum). Pedestrians have the right-of-way at all times. If you see another car approaching, pull to the side and stop until the vehicle has passed by. Please be courteous at all times.
